Tide were commissioned by Cairngorm Mountain Ltd to design original livery for the new funicular carriages for the re-opening of the Cairngorm Mountain Railway.

Our designs were inspired completely from the environment. The flora and fauna of the Cairngorms is unique, and we eventually chose two well-loved creatures of the Cairngorms, the mountain hare and the golden eagle, as our design subjects. Both creatures play a vital part in the delicate, balanced eco-system that provides their home.

The shades of our colour palette were chosen to reflect the unique earth-tones and hues of the Cairngorm Mountains through the shifting seasons.
